Step 3: Install handlebar stem

Before you can install the handlebar stem, you must first remove the nose cap–which is a plastic cover over the front of the bike, just above the flywheel.

1. Using a 3 mm hex wrench, remove nose cap screws from both sides.
2. Gently pry apart the nose cap and pull it off the bike frame.
3. Remove the screw from the bottom of the handlebar stem.
4. Insert the handlebar stem (#5) into the frame of the bike as far as it will go.
