Cleat tension adjustment

The cleat spring tension can be adjusted for both the Delta and SPD sides of the pedal, which determines the amount of force required for the rider to unclip from the pedal.

Locate the cleat tension screw on either side of the pedal. Using a 3 mm hex wrench, turn the screw clockwise to add tension (+) and counter-clockwise to remove tension (-). The cleat tension is adjusted separately for each side of the pedal.

While wearing the corresponding clip-in shoes, test the cleat tension by riding the bike and unclipping multiple times to ensure the tension is correct and riders can clip out easily but will not accidentally unclip while riding, which can cause injury.
